You will be able to work on various applications that are hosted in a client/server environment. These applications perform the day-to-day mission critical operations for our Dallas headquartered company. The company has applications that reside on an Oracle Platform, Microsoft platform and combined environments. They utilize MS SQL2000 and SQL Server v2005 enterprise environment. In this role you will utilize your expertise in the design, development and support of multiple client/server applications. This individual will provide senior level expertise in the areas of scoping, analysis, design, development, business process, reporting and performance tuning. The Corporate Information Store contains the legacy data that must manage various operational systems utilizing Oracle and/or SQL Server. Primary Objective: The candidate will analyze, develop, implement, support, and document the current databases within the operational OLTP systems and corporate application. Next, take on the development role of defining an overall Database strategy encompassing the enterprise needs, integrating this approach with Microsoft based applications. During first three to six months this includes gaining an understanding of the current environment and business needs, upgrading the current operational databases as specified, and creation of the database data administration standards and procedures. The candidate we are looking for the organization delivers prompt, accurate, and consistent support for all internal IT development teams and customers. Your role encompasses MS Server, Oracle, UNIX, and network management as well as delivery of technical level satisfaction to meet all customers' established expectations in cooperation with IT Services Managers and other internal teams.Job Requirements: As a DBA you will be responsible for various SQL Server Applications as they relate to application and development design. This position is also responsible for working with and guiding development team members to ensure that the physical implementation fulfills the business requirements. Performing the following duties will carry out these tasks: * Work with the IT development teams to define new and innovative ways of representing and analyzing data for implementation in the application environments;* Define data requirements and design associated with the implementation of various IT initiatives;* Create and maintain database and application requirements and design information working with the Data Modelers utilizing CASE tools and logical models;* Work with the database and application team members to ensure implementation of the intended design;* Team with DSS team to ensure delivery of intended business meaning;* Work with the Data Management group to create data administration QA standards;* Resolve data issues and facilitating data analysis;* Provide production support of the existing applications (on call as necessary)* Daily maintenance and administration of all SQL servers* First point of contact for tech problem resolution* Take inbound tech support inquiries via phone, email and voicemail* Troubleshoot SQL issues within escalation guidelines* Track and document all support actions through internal ticketing system from initiation to resolution of issue* Completely and accurately record all change execution information* Task planning and estimation. Working with project manager in task coordination of data warehouse activities and other I.T. initiatives;* Escalate all non-tech customer issues to Client Service Managers;* Collaborate with other internal organizations on actions such as customer hand-off and resolving common issues;* Participate as a tech resource as needed for customer issue reviews;* Gain a thorough understanding of assigned applications, with intimate knowledge of the customers' business purpose, operations, systems configuration, and application software environment;* Stay current and proficient on existing and emerging relevant SQL technology through self-study, company and vendor provided training opportunities;* Conducting quality assurance walkthroughs;* Providing status on a regular basis.Presently our client only accepting US Citizens and Permanent Residents.
