. Minimum 4 years OF development and delivery experience with Java
. Minimum 4 years of analysis, design, coding and implementation of custom-built web based applications
. Minimum 2 years experience working with Apache Web server
. Minimum 2 years experience working with Tomcat
. Experience developing, customizing, and optimizing client side browser java script preferably jQuery
. Experience with Spring / Hibernate
. Experience with Ant / Maven
. Experience working with, or an interest in Agile methods, including Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and iterative development
. Knowledge of software best practices like test driven development (TDD) and continuous integration
TECHNICAL SKILLS (Nice to Haves)
. Advanced degree in IT, Business, Engineering or other technical curriculum
. Web 2.0 development
. Experience integrating 3rd party hosted services into custom built websites
. Familiarity with relational databases, preferably Oracle or SQL Server
. Experience with Subversion and/or Clearcase
. jQuery java script
. Google maps and Google Search integration
RESPONSIBILITIES
. 80 - 100% Travel to Chicago will be required for the first 6-8 weeks
. Builds application code through the use of paired programming development stations
. Collaborate with Analysts to clarify functionality in stories and estimate development timeframes
. Collaborates with Architects to clarify architecture and integration points
. Collaborates with SMEs as necessary to obtain guidance for development
. Interacts with resources in other Teams and enterprise programs to obtain necessary foundation and code-base information
. Troubleshoot issues with custom code base and 3rd party hosting providers
. Respond to Customer support calls as needed and participate in on-call pager rotation
. Test, plan, and implement upgrades, bug fixe, and enhancements to community website
