We have an immediate need for a Wintel Web Server Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION
Administers multiple Web Servers and Web Server Infrastructures on Windows and UNIX. NT Operating Servers, and Proxy Servers. Provides requirements, design, implementation planning, and implementation of web server environments NT, IIS, and Proxy Servers, and ongoing support and operation of Internet, Extranet, and Intranet service points. Hardware and software support for Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers.
Plan, implement, and maintain support of Microsoft, Weblogic, Apache, and Tomcat infrastructure. Multi-platform support including software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting on Windows/Intel operating systems. Maintain server communication operations between web IIS server sites. Ensure optimization and tuning of server, file systems, capacity planning and appropriate replication.
Maintain and administer normal backup and recovery procedures. Administration and support of network including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and WINS software. Configures site replications for optimal performance. Provide content migration and management in conjunction with ADS standard change procedures.
Recommends and implements modifications to the server environment, including troubleshooting and replacement of faulty system hardware for HP/Compaq Proliant servers. Assists the Disaster Recovery Team in development, implementation, and disaster testing.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent industry experience
Unix and/or MCSE certifications preferred
Experience Required:
- 3+ years experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server, Unix or similar systems environments
- 3+ years experience with IIS, Apache, weblogic or similar web systems environments
- 3+ years practical application of TCP/IP, DNS, Proxy Server, and switched/routed networks
- Solid project management skills
- Thorough understanding of principles and methods to support Web Server and Proxy Server Architecture and production E-Business environments
