Desktop Support - 3 month contract in Dallas, TX

Excellent 3-month contract with well-established, name-brand employer. This opportunity is equal parts hardware and software support.

  • Provides 2nd and 3rd level technical support for all aspects of end user computing and PC / Workstation based LAN systems software and hardware.
  • Scope may also include responsibilities for the installation, configuration and support of LAN / WAN hardware and software and/or Telecommunications hardware and software
  • Participate in the implementation of technology initiatives in the local office.
  • Manage all aspects of workstation configuration and support for desktop and notebook computers.
  • Provide service in accordance with established service level agreements, through proactive monitoring and ongoing trend analysis.
  • Monitors project status from start to completion.
  • May troubleshoot LAN/WAN devices including workstation access, applications, software and functional server support, using knowledge of network operating systems or notifying the appropriates support organizations.
  • Responsible for PC/Workstation based-LAN systems and hardware, PC/Workstation data and systems security (e.g., passwords, access rights, etc.) recovery and back-up procedures.
  • Coordinates the purchase of selected vendor hardware and software.

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3 years of Desktop Support ( support and analysis experience in end user computing and PC / Workstation-based LAN applications )
  • In-depth knowledge of end-user computing systems and hardware, client functions and applications
  • Experience with the installation and support of LAN hardware and software in a Novell and NT environment or equivalent.
  • Excellent consultative and communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and other IT management and staffs are also required.
