Aggressive, fast-growing company in Dallas, Texas, serving a global market in more than 60 countries is seeking to hire a Release Manager on a regular, full time basis.
Your responsibilities as a Release Manager will include:
Release policy and planning
Change Management
Risk Mitigation Planning
Release Communication/Status Updates
Coordination between functional teams
Document Release Results
Release packaging
This individual acts as a "program manager" that oversees 4 releases per year. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that the software release cycle is executed according to plan.
Candidate will be responsible for detailed coordination of web-based software releases, as well as hardware and infrastructure upgrades
Responsibilities also include:
Developing, reviewing, recommending and disseminating revisions to release management practices, policies and procedures.
Coordinating with deployment team for release, distribution and installation of software
Release and distribution of documentation related to the release
The coordinator facilitates release/operational readiness reviews, identifies release issues, records and communicates them, and works to get them resolved prior to deployment so that deployment is successful.
Candidate will be responsible in determining the readiness of each release based on release criteria (quality of release, release package and production environment readiness, training and support plans, rollout and backout plans, and risk management plan).
Candidate must be knowledgeable about software development methodologies and processes, and able to articulate status, issues, and benefits to stakeholders in both formal reviews and in one-on-one conversation.
General skills should include organization/planning, concise communication (oral and written), time management, conflict management, ability to manage deadlines and work independently. Additionally, the candidate should understand and be conversant in IT/software terminology and techniques, including configuration and change management, software testing, and software distribution methods and technologies.
