ITCC Production Manager Resource - Storage
JCPENNEY HOME OFFICE, PLANO TX

College degree or equivalent work experience is required. A major in computer science is preferred. 10+ year's data processing experience in a large, multi-platform and complex data processing environment with a history of increasing responsibility.

Manages a staff of 8 - 12 storage technicians responsible for four main areas: MVS disk, SAN, Back up, Tape

Working expertise in individual and team development, identifying and fulfilling training needs, performance appraisal / goal setting, disciplinary actions, coaching, delegating, recognition, team building, staffing, conflict and problem resolution.

Technical hands on experience in storage provisioning, allocating, migration, troubleshooting, and first - third level problem determination in a multi vendor, multi platform environment.

Analytical and problem solving skills; Written and verbal communications; Abil ity to creatively adapt technology to meet the business needs.

Experience in managing multiple issues in a real time manner, prioritizing accurately so as to minimize impact to the client and performing allocation of human resources to meet the needs of the environment.

Manages the efficient use of company storage resources across all platforms, ensures maximum utilization of data processing equipment is maintained while achieving or surpassing performance standards, allocates sufficient resources to meet changing requirements, and is responsible for verifying that management policies are being adhered to.

Ensures that sufficient media resources, performing at required levels, are available to meet production needs, and monitors resource usage to ensure that storage management policies are being adhered to.

Implements migration plans to accommodate demand for storage resources.

Acts as vendor interface on all scheduling concerns, d rives resource vendors to provide adequate support to problem situations, and is responsible for productivity from vendor professional services activity.

Works closely with vendors in making changes to hardware/software, implementing new technologies, and completing major projects. Drives vendors to provide required documentation, including for products, new features, and post-mortems to problem situations.

Implements new technologies to solve production problems.

Implements the company's plan for production server back-ups, including building back-up service hardware suite, creation of back-up policies in accordance to application needs, and ongoing maintenance support for this process.

Requirments:
