AssetCenter Developer REPESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* A senior-level professional, the AssetCenter Developer is a fully qualified individual contributor who applies an in-depth knowledge of systems programming/analysis concepts, practices and procedures. Incumbents are competent to work on complex assignments (including large/complex systems) and perform a full range of development and system admin related functions using the HP AssetCenter, ConnectIT, and ServiceCenter Tool suite. The incumbent generally works under deadlines and is capable of handling heavy workloads, operating with limited supervision; errors at this level can cause delay, expense and/or disruption. This individual is also responsible for preparing detailed documentation for computer operations/programs sequencing and solution designs. Assignments are in technical, scientific and business functional areas. This position will be responsible for implementing, tailoring and ongoing support/maintenance of HP / Peregrine AssetCenter. This position will maintain an expert-level understanding of all customizations, configurations and interfaces with other tools including HP / Peregrine ServiceCenter and various auto-discovery tools. QUALIFICATIONS* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: ? Experience in the implementation and configuration of HP AssetCenter (AC 4.x and Higher) ? Experience with implementing Software Asset Management, Procurement, Portfolio and Contracts Modules ? Experience developing Connect-It scenarios for AssetCenter, Enterprise Discovery, ServiceCenter and other data sources such as databases and delimited text files ? Experience with legacy Peregrine tools including but not limited to Connect-It, PDI/PND, AssetCenter Web ? Able to perform quality testing on deployment of AC and its subsidiary tools, including Connect-It, Network Discovery, Desktop Inventory, AssetCenter Web ? Create software license models and associated software counters while setting up ED to manage software installation counts (Experience implementing Software Asset Management module) ? Developed Connect-IT scripts, workflows and wizards in AssetCenter and developed import scripts from multiple data sources into AssetCenter. ? Create reports and analyze data for all the ED/AC tools. ? Prepare databases and files for migration, including verifying, scrubbing, and modifying existing tables, fields and links using Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and AssetCenter Database Administrator ? Set up and maintain ED to manage software installation counts and utilization ? Create wizards to notify of software compliance ? Proficient with SNMP, TCP/IP Suite, ports and protocols ? Provide technical assistance for other IT Specialists, contractors and end users regarding the capabilities, installation and configuration of tool features ? Analyze system performance to identify problems and trends, investigate and diagnose end user problems with software and systems applications, and determine technical actions required to avoid or resolve hardware, software and system application problems ? Experience developing reports using Crystal Software or similar reporting tools ? Ability to produce structured programming code based on the documented requirements ? Ability to develop testing plans for anticipated design changes and perform testing ? Ability to prepare and maintain documentation related to implementation and / or design changes ? Ability to work closely with internal customers and external consultants to coordinate the successful operation and enhancement of this complex system. ? Knowledge of Asset life cycle from Procurement to Disposition. ? Ability to gather and document requirements EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE* ? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience. ? 3-5 years of software development experience. ? 3+ years experience in administering, customizing, operating and trouble shooting of Peregrine AssetCenter ? HP / Peregrine AssetCenter Administration and Tailoring Certifications ? Knowledge of MS SQL database administration, design and architecture concepts ?
