Description:
Responsible for assisting, maintaining, and recommending improving existing corporate IT resources on various platforms, including hardware, operating systems, software upgrades, security patches and virus protection. Person has the experience working with enterprise network platforms such as Cisco, Databases (SQL, Oracle), Windows 2K, UNIX/LINUX, SAN, and VMware. Understand how to secure user and system via Microsoft Active Directory. Is capable of designing and coordinate the installation of systems and networks. Assist with maintaining, and troubleshooting high availability systems in a datacenter environment. Must be able to develop and write systems and networks project plans, infrastructure diagrams, and other documentation. Have the skills to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions. Must be able to learn in real time mode and support new system and network components. This job may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the system being supported.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Support infrastructure through design improvements, software, hardware diagnostics and the use of supporting web sites
Manage design, upgrades, and implementation of infrastructure projects
Monitor, evaluate, and prevent security/virus related issues
Conduct Meetings and other administrative tasks
Documenting system configuration, support procedures, design documentation
Assist with mentoring Systems and Network Administrator
Work with vendors to evaluate solutions and specify
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 10 years experience working as a system, network administrator, and/or DBA
Minimum five years experience working as an administrator of Windows or Active Directory.
Minimum five years experience working as UNIX/LINUX Administrator
Minimum five years experience building server class systems
Minimum five years experience working with relational databases (SQL, Oracle, Sybase)
Performed in a lead technical role
Passionate about learning new technology
Must have Bachelors degree in IT related field
Must be able create both high level and detail project documentation.
Must be able to work a rotating schedule including weekends and evenings
