This company is a leader in the Dallas area and is seeking a Data Warehouse Business Analyst between the Information Technology group and various Internal, External, and Executive teams. The Business Analyst is the key primary go between C-Level executives, directors, managers for the data warehouse. The candidate will be responsible for all business requirements and technical specifications needed to successfully implement this project! Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and work well with the technical and business communities to understand and deliver projects that increase the value of the Client's assets. This person must be a self-starter in initiating project and process improvements and may take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology, and implementing automated test processes across the data warehouse. This Business Analyst should have: a) Sound knowledge of various Financial applications and concepts;b) Implemented complex reporting projects c) Expertise in regularly communicated effectively with senior management;d) Ability to translate business requirements to program specifications for the developers Responsibilities: * Gather, analyze, and transform business requirements into business intelligence reporting specifications. * Utilized the existing logical, physical, and build star schema data models with business subject matter experts. * Assist Business Intelligence team in transitioning to database schemas from logical data models into a Business intelligence implementation. *Define and enforce standards and conventions (definition, naming, abbreviation) *Support project teams on an ad-hoc, as required basis. Experience: Minimum Skills: * 4+ years of Information Technology background;* 2+ years Demonstration of Project Liaison with both business community and technical teams during requirements gathering, data analysis;* Skilled in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing methodologies, concepts, and implementations;* Strong background in structured systems and data analysis;* Demonstrated ability with JAD and RAD methodologies;* Knowledgeable in relational database design (normalized and dimensional); *Proficient with MS Office suite Desired: - Excellent Business Intelligence experience for large-scale applications;- Experience driving business requirements from Public Independent School Districts. - Experience creating and customizing complex business intelligence solutions based on data warehouse environments- Familiarity with other Business Intelligence tools (Business Objects, Cognos, SAS, etc.) a plus! Educational Skills- BS or BA required, MBA Preferred
