Network Engineer in Dallas, TX

JCPenney Information Technology has an immediate opening in the Plano, TX Corporate Headquarters for a IT Infrastructure Architect-Network Engineer in the Network Architecture department.

Responsibilities:

1. Will have direct involvement in all aspects of supporting the Corporate Data Network
a. Design
b. Configuration
c. Documentation
d. Implementation
e. Support
2. Work with client organization(s) to understand business requirements and design/deliver networking solutions that satisfy the business needs.
3. Troubleshoot network issues through all layers of the OSI model.
4. Provide ?Level-2? network support in a multi-vendor environment across varying products and IEEE/IETF protocols including wireless LAN.
5. Participate in an ?on-call? rotation to satisfy ?24 x 7? support requirements.
6. Participate in cross-functional / cross-organizational team projects.


Qualifications:

1. 1-4 years working experience as a Network Engineer/Analyst
2. Working knowledge of the TCP/IP network stack and OSI model.
3. Familiarity with routing protocols: OSPF / BGP
4. Familiarity with IEEE 802 standards
5. Familiarity with Cisco and Alcatel hardware platforms
6. Proven troubleshooting skills in a multi-vendor environment
7. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including MS Visio
8. Strong oral and written communication skills
