IT Application Specialist II

BASIC FUNCTION:
Develops and implements application system architectures, applications designs, and code, and participates in IT strategic teams and special projects to achieve client business objectives.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review Yantra Non Functional Requirements
- System Sizing - Yantra custom components
- Websphere and JNDI configuration. Trouble shoot application server related issues
- Instance management->Master configuration environment sync to other environments
- Maintain the following software (admin tasks) VSS,CVS, Eclipse
- Build, deployment - strategy and execution
- Work with Infrastructure team for server (Unix machines) related issues
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field is required, masters' degree is preferred. A continuing education in applicable technology is also required. In lieu of formal education, 8 - 10 years of progressively more responsible experience will suffice.
* 8 - 10 years in systems planning and design, programming, communications, security and control, capacity planning or other IT areas.

Performance
- Performance tuning recommendations for the User Interfaces, interfaces, extensions and customization components
- Manage scheduling of agents/integration servers with respect to performance requirements.
- Assist in validation of Load balancing/High Availability related solutions
- Database performance management
- Performance Testing - Plan and execution
Development
- Create technical/common components (Exception handling framework etc)
- Creation of new environments (String testing, PUAT, Integration testing, UAT)
- Technical Review of designs and/or source code for critical components.
- Review development methodology and suggest improvements
- Assist the solution team with testing and debugging (including creating tools to jump start data migrations, data creations etc.)
Integration
- Yantra Integration strategy and guidelines
- Work with Technical architecture group to evolve the rollout strategy
