Interactive/Multimedia Designer in Dallas, TX

Interprets the selling message for catalog merchandise by developing rough and comprehensive graphics layouts to be followed by
photography studios to prepare finished artwork on a designated schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Designs catalog pages, implementing computer assisted page development, and presentation formats to maximize consumer
response.
2. Works with art director, copy chief and copywriter using art and layout techniques for optimum merchandise presentation to improve
demand and catalog/internet image.
3. Attends advertising meetings with catalog copy, catalog media managers and buyers to understand the planned merchandise offerings.
4. Demonstrates a proficiency in using the Catalog Electronic Publishing System (LAGO).
5. Assists art director in the production process such as marking up layouts, shipping art proofs and swatches to maintain the timely flow
of pages in the catalog production process.
6. Compiles a resource file of outside catalog media publications to keep abreast of current design and merchandise trends, evaluating
effectiveness of competition's presentation to improve our presentation.
7. As assigned, prepares catalog art purchase orders using prescribed pricing book, bidding procedures and computer assisted
formatting, and reviews studio invoices for compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinates with the advertising manager, copy chief and copywriters, other catalog art directors and layout artists to secure optimum
and consistent visual results for catalog pages.
2. Receives and processes information from divisional catalog media managers and buyers regarding merchandise display and
emphasis.
REQUIREMENTS:

Education: College or art school degree, or equivalent business experience.
Experience: Catalog, retail, or agency experience with design and/or photography.
