This position is a long-term assignment for a UNIX Systems Administrator to work with one of Dallas clients. The tasks involve integrating an application that was purchased. You will be responsible for understanding the underlying architecture, installation, and determining how the software tools will be implemented for the overall success of projects. You will work with all Web and Database systems and maintain and administer applications for the Web environment.
3+ years of Systems Administration experience is required, along with the knowledge of Solaris and Linux hardware platforms that include Sun Fire V120, 200, 280, 480, 4800, 6800. Experience with UNIX Scripting, Perl and JavaScript is essential. Experience with Oracle and MySQL is preferred. The ability to effectively understand the applications and systems and the impact of design, performance, supportability, reuse, and cost is needed. Desired skills include Windows 98/NT/2000/XP, BMC Patrol, Veritas Netbackup, Volume Manager File System, Cluster Services, iPlanet, WebLogic, WebSphere and Apache Servers.
