A senior-level technical expert, the Infrastructure Management Principal is a fully qualified individual contributor who applies an advanced knowledge of systems programming/analysis concepts, practices and procedures. Incumbents are competent to work on the most complex assignments (including large/complex systems) and perform a comprehensive range of system operations activities. The incumbent routinely works under demanding deadlines and often handles heavy workloads, operating with only limited supervision; errors at this level can cause significant delay, expense and/or disruption. Provides functional guidance to less experienced staff. Provides functional and technical expertise to formulate computer system scope and objectives develops and/or modifies procedures to solve problems using information systems. Prepares detailed documentation for computer operations/programs sequencing, performs multiple software functions and supports hardware platforms. Assignments are in technical, scientific and business functional areas.

REPESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Analyzes, modifies and/or designs complex computer programs across mainframe, midrange, client server and desktop platforms, to ensure user requirements/program objectives are met.

Develops detailed documentation including the use of flowcharts, project specifications, diagrams to translate user requirements into programming language; develops/modifies illustrations of program sequences necessary to meet user requirements.

Analyzes new and existing vendor software; provides installation, maintenance and customization of vendor software as required.

Develops and recommends alternative programming approaches to realize desired specifications and/or enhancements based on user requirements. Performs feasibility studies, life cycle analysis and/or cost/benefit studies.

Consults with end user to identify current operations procedures and clarify program objectives.

Monitors computer program performance to detect errors; applies testing procedures/methodologies (e.g., diagnostic software) and provides interpretation of data.

Provides input during client strategic planning as required as part of technical expertise.

May provide guidance to and assist in the training of less experienced staff; provides hardware/software training as required.

Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible related technical experience, including at least 3 years computer/systems design experience in a large-scale computer/systems environment and at least 2 months software installation, maintenance and customization experience.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS NEEDED:

Strong technical working knowledge and hands-on experience at medium to large corporate environments, including:

Hands-on technical experience and Citrix Presentation 3.0 & 4.0
Hands on Experience with Active Directory Group Policy
Experience with Citrix Presentation server 4.5 a plus
Hands on technical experience with Microsoft Terminal Server 2003
Document standard operating procedure for management and use of Disaster Recovery to restore Citrix servers
Citrix Proactive maintenance using enterprise monitoring tools
Knowledge of server hardware (IBM/HP) drivers, and protocols
Ability to be accessible and available for on call responsibility and support
Provide appropriate information and recommendations to resolve problems on behalf of the customer
Manage Citrix and Load Balance Design definition requirements
Provide Enhancement & proposal upgrades recommendation
Strong ability to transfer knowledge and experiences to other technicians
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to define an document practices and procedures consistently and accurately
Plan and lead project installations


Education: Bachelor degree in MIS, CS or Engineering or equivalent work experience; 5 – 7 years Windows based systems engineering experience; MCSE or MCSA and/or Citrix Certification

Maintain expert level industry/technical knowledge base and facilitates/maintains industry relationships.
