Systems Administrator in Dallas, TX

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting Client’s Windows 2003 server farm and corporate database and business systems.
Client has over 50 locations in Texas and Arkansas linked by a fully managed Verizon WAN (Frame/MPLS). Critical business servers are housed in a Class A data center facility in Richardson, TX. The environment is primarily Windows 2003 Server running on Dell PowerEdge hardware. Key business applications run on SQL Server 2000 and Oracle 9i databases. The IT Dept supports over 250 in-house and remote clients running Windows XP.

This position will require occasional travel within DFW and to Houston and Little Rock. On-call support and an early shift rotation are in effect.


Duties

Server builds, backups, restores and upgrades
Monitor server logs and health on daily basis
Manage and develop 10 server Citrix farm (Presentation Server 3 & 4)
Perform DBA functions on Oracle 9i and SQL Server 2000 databases including backups, performance tuning, restores
Manage and maintain Exchange 2003 server
Maintain and develop system and DR documentation to satisfy audit and compliance requirements
Manage network printers
Monitor corporate AV console and perform corrective actions as required
Monitor corporate Anti-Spyware console and perform corrective actions as required
Maintain spam filter gateway and perform updates to rule-set’s
Manage Windows Update Server and monitor availability and deployment of updates to enterprise
Monitor VPN gateway and troubleshoot user access issues
Troubleshoot user account and remote access issues
Monitor and liaise with third party provider on issues related to WAN
Maintain internal Sharepoint sites
Prepare status reports and briefings for IT Director

Experience: Preferred Skills/Qualifications

3-5 years solid industry experience in managed enterprise environment
Relevant professional certifications (MCSE, CCA, CCEA)
Windows 2003 AD
Citrix PS3/PS4
SQL Server 2000/2005
Oracle 9i
SQL scripting
Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Edition
Dell PowerEdge / OpenManage
VOIP
