System Engineer, XP Embedded, Vista in Dallas, TX

For this contract position, you will bring your software development experience to a global medical device manufacturing company. Responsibilities include: Review of product and software requirements associated the product operating system Configuring and tuning the operating system as required Creating an image of the operating system and automating its installation on manufactured devices Validating the operating system for use Participation in other development activities including design, verification, and risk management Documenting all deliverables Experience: Minimum of 6 years experience in software development on the Windows operating system Expert knowledge of Windows Operating System including XP Embedded and Vista Experience developing software that operates on mobile devices such as PDAs, Ultra Mobiles, and Tablet PCs Experience enabling/disabling selected OS features, services, and ports Capability to optimize boot time, hibernation, battery management, and other aspects of Windows Capability to prevent unauthorized software from being loaded on the device Capability to secure the Windows OS against unauthorized use Capability to configure Plug & Play and specific device drivers Familiarity with OS image creation and image-based installation approaches Familiarity with modern software development methodologies Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent writing and documentation skills Bachelors Degree in computer sciences, computer engineering, or related fieldBONUS SKILLS:Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment IT/IS Experience supporting Windows-based devices/products Experience working in a regulated medical device software environment To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
