Sr Risk Analyst in Dallas, TX

Excellent opportunity for senior level risk analyst to contribute to a successful financial organization. Successfully resolve complex repurchase demands issued by the various investors of residential mortgage assets sold by the Firm, and/or to successfully resolve private mortgage insurance rescission notices issued by the various mortgage insurance companies.Perform research and conduct an investigation into the specific issues as outlined in the demand or notice.Consider the merits of the demand or notice along with the results of the independent research and investigation to derive at a decision as to a course of action to be taken.Construct a written rebuttal argument for the rescission of the demand or for the reinstatement of mortgage insurance.Participate in conference calls to debate the strength of our written rebuttal and to verbally outline the facts supporting our request for rescission or reinstatement.Escalate stalemated issues to management. Provide proper documentation to the Cure system of statuses and comments throughout the review process.Provide proper posting of documentation and communications to electronic repurchase file. Resolve demands for repurchase or mortgage insurance cancelation noticesEvaluate all demands and notices to fully understand the issues being addressed in the demand or notice.Work in conjunction with our first review outsource vendor to independently verify supporting documentation provided by the investor or mortgage insurance company and to obtain documentation in support of our rebuttal or to discredit their documentation.Decision as to course of action to recommend repurchase or to rebutRecommend Repurchase complete required forms and submit for approvalCreate written rebuttal after carefully reviewing the investors demands and:Review of the delivered written work product and documentation produced by an outsourced vendor in support of the rebuttal effort.Review pertinent transaction documents, for example, Purchasing Agreements, Master Commitment Agreements, Amendments, and Seller Underwriting and Delivery Guidelines to determine the alleged breach was contractually addressed and the sought Remedy is appropriate. Thoroughly re-validating information provided in the repurchase demands as well as the origination credit file (for example: VOE, VOD, VOR) Build relationship with the appropriate internal departments to obtain pertinent information used to format a successful appeal (Servicing, Valuations, Contract Finance, Collateral Management)Evaluate investors response to rebuttal and take appropriate actions to include:1. Updating cure as to the status of the rebuttal Rescission won or Appeal denied2. Determine next course of action with regards to appeal denials; a. Recommend repurchaseb. re-investigate and rebut c. Propose settlement d. Escalate.Communicate verbally at loan level with various internal and external stakeholders of the repurchase process. Discussions will include presenting a brief summary of the issues addressed in the demand and the actions taken to date as presented in the written rebuttal or the recommend repurchase. 5+ years of mortgage underwriting or senior processor origination experience, or 3+ Paralegal, legal document/contract interpretation experience as it pertains to mortgage origination and/or the sale of mortgage assets.Strong written verbal communication skills with external resources as well as across various levels within the organization from peer to senior level management.Proficient with Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Excel, Power Point, and AccessWorking experience with Lexis Nexis software application, Experian and Accurint, Fiserv and MSP mortgage servicing platforms, and imaging systems preferredAbility to creatively research and apply analytics to make a recommendation as to the disposition of demands.
