Senior Network Engineer in Dallas, TX

Growing renewable energy company is looking for a Senior Network Engineer that is a self-starter that enjoys a challenge JOB SUMMARY: Planning, design, deployment and integration of secure high-availability network infrastructure, connectivity and messaging services. Network analysis, routing/switching, operating systems and practical TCP/IP troubleshooting methodologies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Ability to provide day-to-day support for data security, and infrastructure topology. • Ability to evaluate, test, and recommend software, hardware and diagnostic tools. • Ability to provide strategic technology planning/execution • Ability to provide strong LAN, WAN, VLAN, and VPN design and support • Ability to provide network architecture design/optimization • Ability to deploy and use open source network management tools • Ability to administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange 2003 • Ability to deploy, maintain, and monitor remote networks • Knowledge of current networking systems including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networking. • Ability to install and maintain network servers. • Ability to provide disaster recovery documentation and implementation for all servers, routers, firewalls, and switches. • Ability to test and deploy automating network scripts. • Ability to perform network penetration testing • Ability to provide support and maintenance for Internet and create and support Intranet and Extranet. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: • Knowledge of documentation systems and procedures. • Skill in Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, VPN’s, wireless networks and security. • Skill in Microsoft Windows 2003, Exchange 2003, Nortons Anti-Virus, network • Troubleshooting and proven experience with TCP/IP connectivity. • Skill to deploy and maintain fault tolerant network infrastructure. • Knowledge of Internet email (SMTP, mx records, and trbl troubleshooting) • Knowledge of DNS, Internet Infrastructure, and IP informational tools. • Skill in Disaster Recovery procedural development and implementation. • Knowledge of current and developing technologies and ability to analyze technology for use in current environment. • Skill in quantitative, analytical, verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
