Oracle Apps DBA in Dallas, TX

Our Client is a world leader in the Services industry, serving customers daily. They are seeking a Senior Oracle Applications DBA to be a part of an application development/support team. In this role, you will be responsible for mission-critical Oracle Applications ERP systems. As part of our Clients Enterprise Applications team, you will be responsible for the business configuration of the Oracle Financials applications. Role: * Responsible for performance of IT applications and related databases as it's a critical function required to support major business critical applications. * Ensure that application system design and database design support business owner performance criteria. * Coach application developers and database administrators in performance design criteria. * Validate that performance design criteria are physically implemented. * Plan and conduct unit, system, acceptance, integration, and performance testing. * Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks and problem resolution. * Lead cross-functional teams in resolution of performance problems. Qualifications: * Demonstrated success in Oracle performance design and tuning. * Demonstrated knowledge of database design criteria. * Demonstrated knowledge of AIX/UNIX/Solaris operating system, utilities, memory, management, security and devices. * Demonstrated ability to isolate and diagnose IT system performance from end-user workstation layer through database layer and back to end-user. * Includes but not limited to workstation, network, server and database components. * Working knowledge of design and performance of one or more major IT application system types. * Includes but not limited to Data Warehouse, Web, OLTP, OLAP, routers, and middleware. * Demonstrated ability to work with team members from various IT functions. * Ability to communicate and motivate team members possessing various skill sets. * Demonstrated ability to plan and manage performance evaluation phases of IT system development and support projects. * Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills in supporting multiple projects. Required Technical Skills and Experience - 2+ years tuning performance of large scale IT applications and databases using SQL and PL/SQL. - 2+ years of Oracle Apps experience utizling Oracle Finance - Skilled in Oracle DBA utilities, RMAN, OID, RAC. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and Strong presentation skills Desired Skills and Knowledge - MS Office, Lotus Notes, Visio, automated testing tools, Case tools, Oracle Designer. - Ability to create, document and implement repeatable processes - Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks - Knowledge of Oracle HR Apps a BIG Plus! - SQL Tuning and performance optimization; - Work in a fast paced environment - Establish, follow and enforce documentation standards - Capable of being both an individual contributor and working as part of a team. - Proactive personality with a proven track record of delivering on responsibilities and tasks. - Highly adaptive with an ability to organize, coordinate, and execute on details. - Willingness to work in a team environment, and in a proactive manner Education / Certification Requirements: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Business Administration.
