Production Spec - Open Systems Support in Dallas, TX
ASSOCIATE PRODUCTION SPECIALIST JCPenney Home Office, Plano TX Basic Function: Provides first and second level problem analysis, diagnosis, and restoration of service for all IT related issues in System Monitoring, Communications, Software, Open Systems, and Desktop Support. Principal Responsibilities 1. Analyzes, researches and recommends, with direction, alternative actions to resolve problems of simple to medium complexity. 2. Identifies trends to proactively prevent problems. 3. Takes corrective actions to solve problems or escalates issues to achieve timely recovery with minimum impact to the Customer. 4. Provides first level technical solutions for problems without assistance. 5. Follows operational standards for meeting, reporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting all production issues. 6. Participates in turnover meetings with peers to ensure smooth transition of work. 7. Initiates, dispatches and performs follow up as needed with vendors for problem resolution. Education: B.S./B.A. in computer science or information systems preferred, or equivalent formal training or work experience. Experience: Position typically filled by candidate having at least 4 years' proven work experience in first level support of Communications, Software, Open Systems, Monitoring, or Desktop environments. Has good familiarity with IT Operations. Core Competencies: Proficient knowledge of Computer/Network systems and related hardware/software. Proficient knowledge of large multi-platform environments. Proficient knowledge of network topologies, operating systems, hardware and software configurations. Good written and verbal skills. Additional Qualifications: Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software pertaining to the corporate Intel based desktops. Makes hardware repairs to various printers, and desktop units. Dispatches appropriate vendor for advanced or contracted hardware support issues. Excellent Customer Service Skills Strong problem determination skills required Working knowledge of Active Directory Proficient in supporting Microsoft supported operating systems such as Win 2K, Xp, Vista and Microsoft Office Suites.
