SQL Server DBA JCPenney Home Office - Plano, TX JCPenney has an immediate opening for a strong SQL Server DBA to add to our top-notch team! Requirements: * 2-7 years of strong SQL Server experience (including database design, installation, configuration, tuning, space management, replication, backup and recovery, physical modeling) working in both large production and development SQL Server environments. *Oracle experience is a plus. Responsibilities: -Install, configure, optimize & support SQL Server. Physically create databases that perform well and meet the client expectations. Work with the application team to design a balanced system tuned to the needs of the business user. Define database administration standards, policies, procedures, structures, and apply acceptable data content standards. - Develop scripts, documentation, and procedures for database administration within testing and production environments including stored procedures, triggers, files, tables, and table spaces. - Support and tune a large scale, high-volume environment. Experience in installation, performance tuning, table space management, security, data integrity, SQL, stored procedures, triggers, query languages, shell scripting is desired. - Database Backup and Recovery strategy implementation, testing and documentation. Analyze complex technical and/or Level 2 system problems. Lead projects or subprojects. - Requires on call after hours support, including nights and weekends.
