Our Messaging & Collaboration program has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Sr. Solutions Specialist with proven technical implementation and development skills with WebSphere Portal. This customer-facing , consulting role could be based out of either Portland, OR; Salt Lake City; Dallas, or Atlanta. This position will involve some travel (up to 25%) to customer sites. Incumbents in this position will be tasked with technical responsibilities as part of a project. The Senior Solutions Specialist must have a reliable and proven skill set, and be able to move flexibly between different project roles including analysis, design, and development. The Senior Solutions Specialist will participate in activities such as installing, configuring, programming, testing, and documentation, and should exemplify a best practices approach to other developers on the team.
The Senior Solutions Specialist is expected to handle engagements requiring knowledge of multiple application server environments, to assist the Lead Solutions Specialist in analysis and design when requested, and to provide technical sales support as needed. The Senior Solutions Specialist will mentor Solutions Specialists. The Senior Solutions Specialist may travel regularly to client locations, and may perform both on-site and off-site work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide installation, configuration, requirements gathering, application design, development, documentation, testing, and support to our clients via services delivery, including (but not limited to):
Developing applications using Domino, Lotus Script, Lotus formula language, JavaScript, J2EE, XML, WebSphere, and/or other platforms, as determined by client needs
Developing technical and conceptual specifications in support of the overall application design
Developing data related files
Developing data conversion applications
Developing interfaces to other application systems
Testing of applications for data integrity, performance, and usability
Documenting completed application development, installation, and configuration work for the client
Maintaining technical specifications throughout development process
Installing, configuring, and/or administering application servers such as Domino and WebSphere

Experience: Knowledge and Skills:
Experience as a member of a technical project team, from design through delivery
Proven development and implementation skills with WebSphere Portal required
Proven development and implementation skills with Lotus Workplace preferred
Knowledge of UML and OOAD tools (e.g. Rational Rose)
Database knowledge in DB2 or other enterprise-class RDBMS
Knowledge of operating systems including Windows, i5/OS, z/OS, AIX, Linux, or others
Ability to make technical decisions regarding assigned tasks when presented with options by non-senior staff
Ability to create design documents and specifications that must be communicated to the customer/client
Ability to troubleshoot and identify potential problems and make appropriate changes as necessary
Ability to work closely with clients and deal with them in a professional manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated creditworthiness
Education:
Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field, OR a 2 year degree and 3+ years relevant experience, AND/OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Four or more years full software lifecycle development experience, preferably in a consulting environment, and/or significant technical achievements and experience corresponding to that of a senior team member

Travel:
Travel to various client locations and some weekend work required - quantity varies by location, on average, up to 25%
Current driver s license required
