Sr. Manager - IT Security and Control
JCPenney Home Office - Plano, TX

JCPenney has an immediate opening for a Sr. Manager in our Security and Control group.

This candidate manages associates and activities in the IT-Risk Management-Security and Control area. Oversees the design, development, installation and maintenance of Security Technology
The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Act as Information Security contact point and principal advisor on Information Security issues for the corporation
  • Develop, implement and maintain information security strategies and policies to provide an overall system of internal control and ensure protection of the Company's electronic information assets.
  • Lead the administration of security systems used to control access to Company network resources.
  • Leads and is responsible for the execution and monitoring of penetration studies, vulnerability assessments and intrusion prevention solutions.
  • Coordinates with internal and external auditors to assure IT's compliance with security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provides strategy and directs efforts for review of new software and business applications to ensure compliance with security and control requirements.
  • Coordinates with Legal, HR and Internal Audit in the management and handling of security incidents and system abuses involving JCPenney information assets.
  • Responsible for all personnel assigned including recruitment, associate development and assessment.

    In addition:
  • Provides leadership in key interactions with business customers to define, analyze, and deliver customer requirements.

  • Works closely with the supported customers to ensure needs are met and any issues or problems are resolved with minimal impact.

    B.S. /B.A. or M.B.A. /M.S. in computer science, engineering, or information systems preferred, and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.

    Position typically filled by candidate with 7-10 years' proven experience in security operations, or other IT areas. Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules and leading associates within a variety of projects is essential to the job, as well as advanced communication abilities including written, verbal and presentation skills, and interacting with customers without direction.
