Job Description
As part of our Client's Enterprise team, you will be responsible as the development Database Administrator (DBA) for an Oracle Data Warehouse. In this role, you will design, implement, perform tuning, support the physical database structures, and document the integrated reporting repositories in support of Business Intelligence reporting environment. The 'best fit' candidate will have advanced knowledge of data warehouse implementation strategies, design physical data models, automate ETL processes.
Project tasks will include excellent Oracle PL/SQL programming skills, Unix Shell Scripting, implement data conversion processes, review and make recommendations for ETL procedures, and have end user communications. Candidate must be able to participate, review, and critique logical, physical, and dimensional data models. In this role, you will partner with the DWH Architect to obtain and document business and data process flows.
The candidate should possess the following:
- Work with development team to perform performance analysis and tuning: add indexes, create partitions and materialized views, set analyze strategies for gathering statistics, adjust redo log sizes, etc.
- Design/build summary tables; - Monitor space usage.
- Perform schema maintenance as required (where a dedicated project team is not necessary).
- Create/propose database security rules.
- Create/propose schemas to support one-time data cleansing/fix efforts.
- Focus on the interface of the database with the Business Intelligence query tools.
- Assist the Data Center with recoveries.
- Perform periodic data reorganization.
- Review and document current environment
- Review design documentation for compliance with requirements
- Identify process changes; design and help implement revised processes
- Help drive consensus on areas of required commonality
- Assist with preparation and delivery of communications to end-users
- Identify and design security for related to end-user reporting
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- 7+ years in Information Technology Experience
- 1+ years of Data Warehouse Database Administration experience, skilled in physical database design, performance tuning, SQL development, Unix scripting, capacity planning, and trouble-shooting
. 3+ years Oracle DBA experience
. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and Strong presentation skills

Education / Certification Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Business Administration. Computer Sciences, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
