Our Dallas Client is looking for a Production Trading Support Engineer:
The position is involved in the production management of internal trading systems for Equities. The position requires close cooperation with many diverse areas of the firm, including business units, software engineering, and network engineering groups. The ideal candidate would be able to balance a quick turnaround on front-office requests while having a long term view of how to improve the resiliency and supportability of our production environment.
Responsibilities
Monitor all strategy alerts (chat channels/Emails) and respond when appropriate
Respond to technology related requests from traders (like getting 'outs' and 'cancels')
Test with connecting systems (external and internal)
Build tools to manage orders in various states
Liaise with Development, Traders and Order desk in times of outages
Morning system and data checks
Enhance and maintain database required for post trade and order trail
Writing scripts for regulatory reporting purposes
Working with IT infrastructure groups for system management (testing, DR tests etc)
Deal with daily production problems, ensuring effective and timely resolution and communications to the customer.
Carry out bug fixes and/or report bugs back to the development team.
Involvement in planning, co-ordination and implementation of new local/global releases and system enhancements.
Assist in development and deployment of new systems.
Involvement in application testing and quality assurance.
Development work including automation of processes, configuration and implementation of application management tools.
Implement, configure tools to monitor, troubleshoot and maintain core products. This involves automation where possible.
Function as a liaison to the business community ensuring issues important to the customer are identified and addressed or directed to the appropriate area.
Required Job Skills
Have a strong technical background and core application support experience.
Prior experience supporting Trading Systems at brokerage firms, Exchanges or other financial institutions strongly preferred.
Experience writing scripts in Perl, C++ or other programming languages.
Comfortable with SQL.
Working with Applications running on Windows Servers.

Business Accumen with knowledge of Cash/Futures/Options/FX and Bonds
Interpret FIX/Application logs and troubleshoot order routing/execution issues
Understanding of Operating systems (UNIX, LINUX, Windows)
