Our Dallas area client is looking to hire an Embedded Software Developer on a direct hire basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on the development and integration of leading-edge radio protocol stack software for standardized wireless technologies.
The position will involve design, implementation, integration and testing of radio protocol software.
Understanding of Layer 1 control, RLC/MAC and RR/RRC layers is essential. The candidate will be responsible for investigating and resolving integration and performance related issues for the DSP and mixed signal hardware.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum five (5) years experience in embedded software development for L1, L2 and DSP software in C/C++
Prior experience in current wireless technologies, particularly GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSDPA
L1 base band control signalling and scheduling of signal processing
Modular, layered software design experience either on DSP or MCU
Real-time OS firmware development environment and debugging on multi-processor hardware architectures
Experience in embedded development, simulation, test tools and languages
Debugging experience on multi-processor hardware architectures
Familiarity with 3GPP standards, particularly those related to radio protocols
Familiarity with high-level programming and scripting languages in PC environment for test harness development
Some exposure to other technologies such as OFDM, EVDO, A-GPS, 802.11/16, CDMA-1x, iDEN would be desirable
Requires BSEE/CS, MSEE/CS a plus.
