May perform one or more of the following:
The Symantec NetBackup Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of the Symantec backup infrastructure. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for performing daily backups of the following systems; Microsoft Windows and Various UNIX Platforms. Perform data recovery of systems and end user data as necessary. This position will also support the migration of backup technologies between platforms.
The Backup Team is a fast paced team supporting ACS's dynamic backup environments. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys assisting corporate uses, developing new skills, and working with a broad array of technologies.
Major Responsibilities
Perform daily backups, data recovery, and all associated reporting.
Install configure, and maintain storage hardware and software systems as appropriate.
Understand general disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required
Requires at least 5 years experience in Storage Management with technical knowledge in the following:
Symantec NetBackup 5.x,6.x HP Data Protector experience a plus.
Basic knowledge of networking technologies.
Storage networking technologies related to Storage Area Networks, to include fibre channel.
Knowledge of HP-UX, AIX, Advanced Solaris Knowledge, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Linux operating systems is desired.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and VISIO
Should have knowledge of service ticket requests. i.e. Peregrine, Remedy, etc...
Perl Scripting is a plus
Also needed are strong communication skills and the ability to work well with business users in a professional manner.
