Capacity Planning- Linux/Unix/Windows in Dallas, TX

Dallas-based telecom firm in need of capacity planning expert.

Responsibilities:

Conduct supply to demand analysis and trend analysis. Make proactive capacity planning decisions and recommendations to mitigate risk and rationalize the optimal amount of hardware, software, and network resources to meet service level requirements in a timely and cost effective manner. Provide assessment, documentation, prioritization and execution of existing and required tools, the methodologies and task plans to meet the capacity planning requirements.

Act to resolve system performance problems by applying analytical skills collected data to provide insight and root-cause diagnosis of system and network resources toward timely problem resolution.

Develop, maintain, recommend, document and support tools and backend utilities to provide capacity planning and performance management.

Interface with application, systems management, engineering, vendor, and technical staff in support of business requirements and service level objectives.

Required Skills:

3-5 years advanced Linux, Windows and UNIX platform administration; 3-5 years experience with Linux, UNIX, and MS Windows platform capacity planning, and performance metrics and analysis; excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills; self-motivated; works well in a team environment or independently.

Desired Skills:

1-3 years experience with industry standard capacity/performance data collection, programming, C/C++/VB/PERL/HTML scripting, programming or equivalent development language. Data management and automation skills are highly desirable.
