Cisco Network Engineer - TIER1NOC_TX in Dallas, TX

Modis is currently seeking Cisco Network Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with our client in the Northern Dallas area.This position will be to work in a NOC environment. An immediate start date is anticipated with an initial contract duration set for 12 months. There is a high likelihood of long-term contract extension and/or full time conversion on this project.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Cisco Network Engineer will be working in a Network Operations Center environment in support of a enterprise customers IP Network.Primary responsibilities will include providing Tier 1 implementation, configuration and maintenance support for LAN/WAN networking technologies. This role will include monitoring network alarms and responding to the issue or escalating to the Tier 2-3 staff. Candidates will gain the opportunity to work with advanced WAN Protocols and Cisco Routers/Cisco Switches. Candidates will be utilizing HP Openview and CiscoWorks to monitor alarms in the customer’s network and respond with appropriate escalations. Prior experience using these, or similar tools, is highly preferred. In addition, ticketing systems such as Remedy or Peregrine would be a plus. Required Skills: - Minimum 2 year college/Associates degree in a technology related field is required- Minimum of 1-2 years hands on experience in a Cisco network-related role.- Active CCNA Certification is highly preferred- HP Openview and/or CiscoWorks for Network Monitoring is required- Experience with Remedy or Peregrine ticketing systems is a plus.
