Director of Engineering (Aerospace) in Dallas, TX
A growing and established Aerospace Defense Company in the Albuquerque, NM area is looking for a Director of Engineering with a strong Electrical Engineering background. We are looking for candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Once again, the position is in Albuquerque, NM. We are working directly with their Hiring Manager. Responsibilities: Manage an Engineering Department including manpower, expense, and capital budgetsBe responsible for the engineering portions of an SFS business plan (be a major contributor for entire business plan)Be responsible for engineering processes, policies, and proceduresBe responsible for the completeness and correctness of technical design and analysisBe responsible for content of new business proposalsProvide support to the negotiating team relative to proposal effortsBe responsible for performance evaluation and the development of the engineering staffBe responsible for the technical and business readiness of engineering through hiring and people developmentWork with the Director of Test, Quality, and CI to plan and execute projects that are in the test and certification phase Required Skills: Aerospace Director of Engineering Qualifications: BSEE, BSME, or equivalent degree 5-7 years of experience at the Director or Managerial level At least 10 years of applicable aerospace and defense engineering experience Proven track record in leading experienced technical personnel Must have experience at least previously with Circuit Board design for the Space Industry Experience with electrical design of space hardware for launch vehicles or satellites (a plus) Experience with In-put/Out-put Control Command Devices (would be a big plus) Experience implementing core engineering processes including Integrated Product Development, Design to Cost, Design for Six Sigma, Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Testing Experience implementing a disciplined approach to the phased engineering development process Exceptional team building, leadership, and communication skills Knowledge of systems engineering competencies such as requirements management and system optimization Proven record of satisfying customers in the demanding design-to-specification aerospace/defense development program environment Knowledge of engineering tools, design, and analysis software Knowledge of business management skills and ability to set engineering strategies to support business objectives Ability to lead organizations in Risk and Issue Management and Root Cause and Corrective Action using common industry tools and processes This position will involve 10%-20% travel For consideration, please send your resume to (see below) today!
