System Engineer in Dallas, TX

You will be involved in the following activities:Seeking 3-5 years, mid level experience, Monitors and evaluates all in-place server systems, SAN and NAS devices and applications; makes repairs, updates, patches and other changes necessary to ensure maximum performance and uptimePlans, configures, and installs server and storage hardware, network connections, and communications hardware, and installs, supports and administrates software and/or custom applications as required. Examples include server systems, third party systems, and storage systemsCoordinates with end users and internal IT groups to provide needed user support and resolve IT issuesDevelops system methodologies and system administration procedures for Servers and storage systems to ensure maximum uptime, security and performance. Supports various applications software platforms including messaging, communication and application systems.Documents IT activities such as downtime, problems, patch management, upgrades, decomissioning and systems configuration changes Acts as Project Manager on projects of moderate scope to install, move or update server and storage systemsMay coordinate, manage and/or build new computer systems for special purposes including physical and virtual servers, storage devices and application serversRemains abreast of emerging server, storage and application technology and maintains technical competency about OOMC IT infrastructureSupports developers, database administrators, helpdesk and network operations center, 7x24 and ensures issues are resolved promptly while maintaining full adherence to IT change control procedures.Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or a related fieldSeven (7) or more years experience in related IT position Three (3) years project management experienceAdvanced knowledge of and experience with MS Windows 2003 or higher platform and HP/Compaq Server hardwareStrong familiarity with Storage Area Network sybsystems such as EMC and Network Appliance. Experience with Exchange Messaging systems, Active Directory or Citrix administration. Experience with IIS and BEA system administration Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, VPN, PXE and RDPAdvanced skills in Windows Virtualizations and experience with VMWare deployment and administrationSpecialized certifications or equivalent experience associated with assigned computer systems, such as Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Plus 2000 (MCSE ), Specialized knowledge and experience associated with assigned computer systems, such as Windows and Storage Area Networking, Linux OS, Microsoft IIS, BEA Weblogic, or SQL Server Administration.Strong experience is proactive patch management and system upgradesAbility to work extended hours and/or weekends on short noticeStrong analytical skills and detail orientation and strong ability to communicate status or projects and system issues to other IT teams To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
