Senior Storage Engineer

Job Description:
The candidate will have experience in a technical discipline with 5+ years managing storage solutions. Must have demonstrated ability to develop and manage capital and operating budgets. Must have proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects on time and within budget. A strong technical background in Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID, Tape, HSM etc) is a must and certification or familiarity with the ITIL Foundation Library is preferred.
Responsibilities:
The scope of responsibilities includes storage provisioning for a diverse and complex set of server and operating system platforms including IBM (iSeries, pSeries, xSeries), HP (Windows, Linux) and Sun(Solaris). Backup and restore strategies are included as they relate to the central and distributed hospital environment for both disaster recovery needs and archiving purposes. Will participate in design, planning, implementation, enhancement, and changes from small to a large hospital Backup/Recovery environment to meet the business Disaster Recovery requirements. Candidate must possess strong organizational, communication, project management, and documentation skills. Disaster Recovery testing experience is a must.
Key Responsibilities include:
Ensure compliance with all client and regulatory administrative procedures.
Perform analysis of disaster recovery functions for the Mainframe used by the Client Operations Centers
Ensure that the processes and the documentation for disaster recovery are understandable, complete, and usable by non-Operations Center personnel.
Document gaps observed during the exercise that would prevent non-Operations Center personnel from executing the disaster recovery plan.
Prepare and deliver a presentation of the gap analysis with specific deliverables and the work effort required to resolve the issues that were discovered.
Qualifications:
Disaster recovery plan development experience
Experienced in backup and recovery of IBM mainframe DB2 data, VSAM data, sequential datasets, GDGs
Experienced in backup and recovery of UNIX based application data including DB2 UDB
Experienced in storage management practices on IBM mainframe and UNIX environments
Experienced in mainframe JCL, DB2, DB2 tools, VSAM, TSO, RACF, CICS, MQSeries
Experienced in UNIX scripts
Technical experience with various SAN and NAS technologies (including EMC Symmetrix/DMX, HP EVA, NetApp, EMC Celerra), Sun Solaris, Veritas NetBackup and Replication technologies is required. This may include the configuration and installation of the HW and SW infrastructure required to support DR capabilities.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field is highly desired.
