Desktop / Helpdesk Manager in Dallas, TX

NOTE: This is a contract for hire position with the initial duration being approximately 3 months.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Selects, trains, motivates, supervises and evaluates Help Desk and Desktop staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities and provide optimal customer service.

- Establishes, monitors and implements policies and procedures to identify, prioritize and resolve hardware, software and network connectivity problems to ensure customer satisfaction and the availability of efficient computer systems.

- Establishes and monitors acceptable controls over equipment and software inventories to ensure adherence to licensing requirements and maintain the integrity of network software.

- Establishes corporate standards for desktop equipment utilized by corporate and subsidiary employees to ensure state-of-the-art equipment is ordered at the time of each purchase.

- Plans and implements comprehensive maintenance and installation projects.

- Develops methodologies to track user satisfaction and evaluate services rendered to systems users to ensure effectiveness and timeliness of departmental responses.

- Ensures the maintenance of accurate problem control logs, including definitions of acceptable solutions to technical problems.

- Coordinates and monitors the receipt, processing and installation of personal computers, including network and supporting communications and application software to meet customers requests and needs in a timely and efficient manner.

- Surveys market for appropriate new software products and projects PC resource requirements including personnel, software, equipment and facilities to make recommendations to management and ensure the continued applicability of PC systems.

- Stays abreast of the latest development, advancements and trends in the field of personal computing by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations.

- Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

- Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.

CONSULTING
Web Technologies to include the .NET Framework (including C# and Java), Client/Server (Visual Basic, Object Oriented DBMS and tools), Infrastructure architecture and support (including Windows 2000, Active Directory, Exchange 2003 and Windows XP) and Mainframe (Relational DBMS to include DB2 and other development tools).

    Experience: NOTE: This is a contract for hire position with the initial duration being approximately 3 months.

    - 2+ years experience supervising and leading other employees in the implementation of technical projects.

    - 5+ years experience in Desktop and Helpdesk operations, hardware and software installation and maintenance in a multi-LAN environment.


    Required Certification/Licensure:

    - Must maintain MCP and/or A+ certification preferred.

    - Manufacturer Certifications (Compaq, IBM, HP) preferred, including certifications documenting experience with Laser Printers.
