IT Applications Specialist II in Dallas, TX

JCPenney Information Technology has an immediate opening in the Evaluation&Support department for a IT Application Specialist II.The incumbent will Design, Develop and implement application system architectures, and code, and participate in IT strategic teams and special projects to achieve client business objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Develops moderate to complex Asset Management related applications in various programming tools. Tools would include C#,.ASP,Visual Studio,.NET and others.
2. Participates in or leads design of application development projects.
3. Participates in development coordination, planning and contributes to overall planning of ITES-related development projects.
4. Participates in development related testing and can serve as coordinator of testing as needed.
5. Participates in application design and development sessions/meetings and can serve as coordinator of design and development sessions as needed.
6. Participates in cross-company or cross-departmental IT strategic initiative teams and key special projects, including developing new IT organizational structures and missions from inception to implementation, special teams to fulfill urgent business technical needs, strategic projects in which critical business decisions up to $110 M are made, and evaluation of large vendor proposals for hardware, software, or services.
7. Provides leadership to increase the department's contributions and productivity by developing and communicating IT strategies, goals, standards, and procedures.
8. Provides technical guidance and consulting to ensure the most advantageous technical and/or business solutions are selected and implemented to best achieve the business goals, and participates in program management to ensure project priorities align with business priorities.
9. As assigned, participates in cross-company, non-IT strategic business initiatives and key special projects, such as due diligence team for preacquisition of new business purchases, new business development initiatives for the core business, business transformation initiatives, and business divestitures.
10. Contributes to the development of annual operating plans, typically oversees key contractor resources and projects.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field is required, masters' degree is preferred. A continuing education in applicable
technology is also required. In lieu of formal education, 8 - 10 years of progressively more responsible experience will suffice.
5-7 years of development experience in .net and SQL
Application Testing experience required.
Must have knowledge of C#,SQL reporting,Crystal reporting and Peregrine products would be a plus.
8-10 years in systems planning and design, programming, communications, security and control, capacity planning or other IT areas.
Microsoft developer certification preferred.
Asset Management experience preferred.
