International textile manufacturer is looking for a senior level desktop support professional to provide 2nd and 3rd level PC support for local and remote locations. Duties include properly diagnosing and resolving software and hardware configuration problems at the workstation level, software and hardware installations, troubleshooting problems using desktop remote control products, maintaining and testing latest hardware and software revisions and or patches (includes research of known hardware and software bugs).
Support special projects involving travel when the need arises.
Work closely with IT Management, Support Center personnel and other IT technical and applications staff.
If providing 2nd and 3rd level support for PC tickets, complete at least 7 to 8 tickets per day resolving them by deadline at least 90% of the time. Work those problems that are especially difficult to diagnose, such as intermittent problems or those problems involving advanced networking issues. Experience: Requirements include the ability to image, configure and ship 3 PCs per day, create VB or Windows scripts, utilize other automated tools for large scale PC support and mentor junior staff providing on-the-job training experiences for them.
At least 6 years of strong technical experience including providing PC support directly to the business client are required. Bachelor's degree highly preferred, associates degree required. Experience working in Microsoft Windows operating systems (Win95, NT, 2000, & XP);
Windows Active Directory, DFS, and Group Policy; PC imaging software; client based email configuration; PC scripting skills in either Visual Basic or Windows host script and experience with software packaging and deployment tools required.
