The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of enterprise software products and experience managing a wide range of software on multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
Configuration and administration of diverse systems running primarily Windows and Linux server operating systems.
Maintain network and system security. Ensure stability, redundancy, and fault tolerance for a variety of architectures.
Proactively monitor hosted solutions and respond to system and application alerts.
Work with clients to implement system changes and resolve issues.
Articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences including customers, developers, administrators, and sales representatives.
Skill Requirements:
Operating system experience, including installation, administration, and troubleshooting, with Windows, Linux (Red Hat, Debian).
Solid knowledge and experience with TCP/IP and services such as Email, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, and DNS.
Ability to manage and troubleshoot multi-tier distributed web/application solutions.
Ability to translate functional requirements into technical project specifications.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
Preferred Skills:
Extensive knowledge of enterprise software products.
Experience working in an environment utilizing multiple operating systems.
Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle Database, and/or IBM DB2.
Working knowledge of Tomcat, JBoss, and/or IBM Websphere.
Communication Skills:
Ability to document requirements, solutions, and procedures.
Ability to communicate technical information verbally.
Superior team and interpersonal skills.
Ability to interface smoothly with clients.
Experience Requirements:
2 - 4 years working in an ISP or hosting environment.
High school diploma or GED required.
