MAINFRAME STORAGE MIGRATION ARCHITECT CONSULTANT - HDS Specific - 261 in Dallas, TX

Contract jobs - varying in length - 60% to 100% travel required.Mainframe Storage Architect Consultants will be responsible for leading customers through the deployment of HDS storage replication technologies including implementation, deployment, customization, and training. Specifically, candidates for this position should have experience designing, deploying, educating, and integrating with local and distance storage replication software from HDS and other storage vendors.Required Skills and Experience:Experience designing migrations for complex Mainframe replication environments Knowledge of HDS Universal Replicator and/or IBM FlashCopy Experience analysing customer workloads and determine peaks, rolling averages, and interval workloadsAbility to analyze Storage performance, identify potential bottlenecks and recommend resolutionsSelf motivated - proven track record of working well with multiple concurrent work streamsStrong technical background in the MAINFRAME data storage and replication including extensive HDS Enterprise storage management (z/OS) with zVM optionalSolid operating systems (z/OS) skills with storage configuration (volume management)Knowledge of remote storage migration (HDS- TrueCopy Asynchronous, IBM-PPRC, IBM -XRC)Experience with collection and review of SMF/RMF performance dataSolid understanding of networking fundamentals including Fibre Channel and TCP/IPAble to create complex functionality using scripts (REXX, Perl, etc) Proven ability to provide oversight and leadership to project teams in service deliveryDemonstrated ability to guide a complex project from inception through delivery and completionA minimum of 10 years of Storage Management experience with at least 5 years HDS specificPrefer 5 years technical industry experience working at a vendor/technical services organization a plusAbility to develop Excel scripts/macros for migration planningExperience presenting complicated technical topics to business leadersStrong group presentation skills and experience providing training to customers.Excellent customer and employee relationships - must be able to interact successfully with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels in the organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to write project status reports, management escalation documentation, and service planning and definition informationPay rate varies from $70 .00 per hour to $90 .00 per hour depending on experience and length of contract.
