BCS has been asked to indentify a QA Test Manager/Lead for one of our clients. The initial duration of this project is 9 months Scope of work: Proven experiences of software development lifecycle, CMM and/or AGILE/XP development methodology. Experience in developing and maintaining testing project schedules and test plans Experience writing, running and reporting against test scripts ( manually and using business process testing) and defects using Quality Center Understand automation concept using QuickTest Professional Mentoring; participates, assists, and recommends. Completes tasks with minimal direction. Capable of multi-tasking 2 - 3 projects. Proficient knowledge of test case development, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and work experience. Proficient knowledge of technical/business environment. Able to engage with customers (internal and external) with limited direction. Must have strong skills with the standard Workstation software utilized to perform their daily duties, eg, Word, Excel, Visio, etc. Must have strong written, leadership & verbal skills. Demonstrate proficient understanding of business processes being supported by assigned system(s) and providing test cases/scenarios for each. Interact with business to define, analyze, and meet customer requirements by developing test cases that meets or exceed their requirements. Develop basic business process understanding across multiple business customers. Support the organization s project management policy, testing policy, practice and methodology. Plan and manage testing project activities within allocated time. Develop time estimates for self and others to execute complex tasks, monitor progress and provide accurate and timely reports . Manage resolution of problems and escalate as required. Serve as a communication liaison between the business customer and the technology development and support groups for the testing project. Actively solicits different technical testing perspectives. Analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity. Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution with minimal direction. Analyze trends to proactively prevent problems and escalate as appropriate Assist less senior testers (internal or external) when performing all phases of testing . Test enhancements using techniques that meet generally accepted design standards. Ensure that programs are functionally appropriate and are technically sound. Provide input to lessons learned process. Understand interdependencies and act appropriately to avoid duplication of tests across multiple teams. Responsible for testing responses to and after resolution of software/application defects. Provide and/or verify all root cause analysis for defects during testing. Assure functional and technical testing integrity of software/application testing designs. Identify process, look and feel or system enhancements for customer Develop sound cost and testing analysis estimates. Manage testing project costs to budget. Follow established budgeting guidelines. Provide input for departmental budget. Recommend cost saving improvements. Proficiently performs test planning for multiple applications by creating responsible portions (or all) of the master test plan for projects of medium to high complexity . Participates in test case/scenario design within multiple applications by specifying details of the test approach and associated tests for projects of medium to high complexity . Proficiently provides assistance to junior tester on test construction and execution for multiple applications for projects of medium to high complexity. Proficiently performs test reporting and defect tracking for multiple applications for projects of medium to high complexity and leading defect meetings with business and IT team. Proficient knowledge of techniques, processes, tools, and trends in the field of software test and review. Can identify and implement improvements that promote improved testing efficiency within and across applications. Required Skills: Required skills: Demonstrated aptitude for logical thinking and the ability to see the larger picture. Ability, within corporate technologies to independently complete root-cause analysis, perform testing, provide documentation and deliver small to medium size testing projects or components of an large/enterprise testing projects. Ability to analyze and resolve problems of medium complexity. Ability to manage testing projects using the organization s project management testing methodology. Ability to work effectively in a strong customer service/team oriented environment. Excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills so as to correctly interpret business customer requirements and communicate effectively with technology testing, management and support groups. B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems and two years of work experience (4 years can be a substituted for formal degree). Ability to review the technical work of less senior testers or business and development partners. BCS pays referral fees.
