Senior WebSphere MQ Administrator / Developer (Java in Dallas, TX

Job Description:

HOME BASED POSITION...50-60% travel...NO RELO NEEDED
Provide senior level technical knowledge in developing and administrating simple, moderate, and complex, scalable WebSphere MQ & MQSI/Message Broker solutions for global 2000 companies. Candidate should demonstrate solid, proven administration & development skills and should feel comfortable leading a team as well as individually. Candidate should have demonstrated skills to design, develop test, and implement WebSphere solutions on in conjunction with Java architectures. Must have a strong understanding of asynchronous messaging principles. Candidate should be very knowledgeable and have solid experience with WebSphere MQ (both client and server implementations) including installing, configuring, developing applications, usage of the API, queues, clustering, channels, etc. Experience with WebSphere Message Broker a big plus.

Candidate must also possess solid experience with Java architecture, design, and applications development and integration. Ideal applicant would have solid, real-world experience with J2EE, JMS, Message Driven Beans, Servlets, JSP's, XML, HTML. C or C++ experience also mandatory.

Candidate will be responsible to engage with customers as a senior consultant. Duties will include requirements discovery, architecture, design, development, documentation, and post implementation support for large-scale, multi-platform integration solutions.

Chosen candidate will be trained in our proprietary and powerful integration products including Process Manager for Data (PM4Data) and Process Manager for CICS (PM4CICS). Prior experience with either of these technologies is a big plus.

Required Consulting Experience:

. Five (5) years experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale messaging implementations in hosted production environments.
. The ability to quickly understand the overall business strategy, to analyze the business processes, and to develop technical solutions to support the business strategy.
. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment and collaborate with peers on technical solutions.
. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken language. Must be able to clearly articulate complex technical issues to all levels of the organization. Ability to lead and facilitate technical and non-technical discussions and be able to make presentations to middle management.
. Structured project methodology experience, SDLC methodologies
. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
. The ability to travel up to 70%.

Desired Consulting Experience:

. Minimum five (5) years consulting experience with large-scale companies.
. Minimum five (5) years leading projects as WebSphere messaging engineer.
. Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, or equivalent level of experience. Experience: . Minimum ten (10) years overall Java development and administration experience and knowledge with minimum five (5) years middleware software experience with WebSphere MQ. . Solid experience with multiple platform knowledge such as OS/390, UNIX (AIX, HP/UX, or SUN) NT, or AS400. . Experience with design of distributed messaging/brokering applications. . An excellent understanding of the various data formats and data transformation. . Experience and knowledge of Relational Databases such as DB2, SQL, DB2 or Oracle. Desired Technology Experience: . Experience in programming languages such as COBOL, C, C++, Java, or Assembler. . Technology certifications, preferably with WebSphere MQ and/or MQSI/Message Broker. . Ability to successfully design and develop mid to complex messaging & brokering solutions. . Minimum two (2) years experience with WBI - Message Broker.
