Internet Architect-Junior Level in Dallas, TX

You have experience designing dynamic, data-driven web pages, online applications, and end-user interactions utilizing established user interface design principles and your own expertise in usability, and human-computer interaction.You are an ardent advocate of user-centered design and the customer experience.Responsibilities:• Actively participate in requirements gathering sessions. Lead and facilitate group sessions with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to collect needed information. Drive for group consensus and build prioritization in meetings.• Design interactive solutions that address business and brand requirements, technical constraints, research findings, and the audience’s processes, tasks and goals.• Document design intent clearly for business, creative, and technical audiences, using site maps, wireframes, interaction flow diagrams, with appropriate functional and behavioral annotations.• Research the competitive landscape and make recommendations relating to web site functionality.• Utilize usability-related research services, theories and methodologies to support recommendations.• Participate in usability tests and synthesize research findings to aid project deliverables.• Scope and provide input on user-centered design activities to plan and schedule for efficient on-time delivery of deliverables.• Mentor creative staff on usability concepts.• Work collaboratively with designers and technologists to design web site features and develop interface functionality.• Keep all deliverables/documentation - paper and electronic - extremely well organized.• Participate in quality assurance checks during production.Qualifications:• 3+ years of demonstrable hands-on work in designing interactive experiences in a professional development environment; experience with business-to-consumer Internet-related projects and in the electronics market is an asset.• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience), with multidisciplinary backgrounds such as psychology, computer science, information sciences, human/computer interface design, library science, graphic design• Ability to translate audience, technology and business requirements into effective user-interface design solutions.• Ability to resolve complex design and implementation issues, and to successfully negotiate the adoption of those design solutions.• Experience developing and documenting task flows, and detailed interaction designs.• Solid portfolio of varying deliverables that demonstrate relevant work or projects.• Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of user-interface design principles, usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, particularly for consumer-based web sites.• Experience applying research and analysis to site development.• Understanding of graphic design principles required, and cross-training in visual design an asset.• Practical knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with HTML and CSS capabilities and constraints required. Direct experience with HTML, DHTML, XML, Java, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop an asset.• Innovative, creative problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy.• Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups, at all levels of the organization.• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines• Self-motivated with proven ability to work with multiple groups, including business owners, product managers, creative designers, developers, and senior executives.
