QA / Testing Analyst (2-3 openings!) in Dallas, TX

Summary:

- The role of the testing analyst (TA) is to provide in depth testing of off the shelf and developed software solutions.

- Under general direction, the TA will design and conduct operational, functional, and performance tests on system software prior to its release to production.

- The TA will coordinate with Business Analysts and Developers to understand the overall functions of the software being tested and the results to be achieved.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and phases of test operations.

Writes the test plan for a project, and coordinates phases of the tests.

Writes individual test cases.

Analyzes and interprets test data, and writes test results and coverage reports.

Participates in test plan and case reviews.

Confers with development and technical associates to resolve problems identified during the testing process.

Works with the Customer Support group in solving software problems.

Keeps abreast of current and emerging technologies to maintain skill levels necessary to provide quality service to customers.

May supervise others in the performance of testing.

Performs other related duties as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Proven experience in developing and performing all facets of software testing.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated knowledge of customer care and billing systems.

Knowledge of database technology and ability to develop queries using PLSQL and / or other query tools a plus.

Exceptional organizational skills - ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, and projects.

Experience with flowcharting using Visio or other flowchart tools preferred.

Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and provide quick turnaround.

Ability to operate effectively in a rapid growth/high change environment.

Exceptional customer service approach to working with both internal and external customers desired.

High tolerance for stress and the ability to use stress positively.

Reasoning and complex problem solving skills.

Education and/or Experience:

5 or more years experience in testing software solutions.

Business Process Outsourcing experience / understanding is a plus.

BS, BA or BBA from an accredited four year college or university, or other acquired experience. College degree is not necessarily a prerequisite.

CONSULTING
Web Technologies to include the .NET Framework (including C# and Java), Client/Server (Visual Basic, Object Oriented DBMS and tools), Infrastructure architecture and support (including Windows 2000, Active Directory, Exchange 2003 and Windows XP) and Mainframe (Relational Experience: Proven experience in developing and performing all facets of software testing.
