Sr. POS Development Manager JCPenney Home Office - Plano, TX JCPenney is looking for a solid Sr. POS Development Manager to work with our top-notch technical team. Basic function: Manages associates and activities in the POS Systems area. Oversees the design, development, installation and maintenance of Information Technology systems. Principle Responsibilities: 1.Provides leadership to manage root cause analysis, solution design, code writing, testing, documentation, and implementation of large / multiple development projects as applicable. 2.Leads others to work effectively in a strong customer-service / team-oriented environment. 3.Plans and manages project activities and resources for multiple projects with an emphasis on quality, timeliness, and budget. 4.Manages the development of time estimates and project schedules, monitors progress and provides accurate and timely reports for multiple assigned projects. 5.Support the organization's project management policy, practice and methodology. 6.Manages the analysis and resolution of problems in assigned multiple projects. 7.Provides leadership to ensure the testing and implementation of systems and enhancements using techniques that meet generally accepted standards. 8.Responds immediately to production program problems. Education: B.S. /B.A. or M.B.A. /M.S. in computer science, engineering, or information systems preferred, and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. REQUIRED SKILL SET: Experience with POS systems. .net applications SQL server databases. Experience managing teams of 5 or more direct reports. Experience in software development life cycle. Experienced in developing and maintaining project schedules and leading associates. Able to resolve complex challenges and manage others. Plan and manage project activities and resources for multiple projects within allocated resources, time and cost estimates. Position typically filled by candidate with 7-10 years' proven experience in all phases of software engineering and/or systems engineering, data processing operations, communications, risk management, quality assurance, capacity planning, or other IT areas.
