Sr. Network Engineer / Administrator in Dallas, TX

Robert Half Technology, the world's leader in technology staffing, has an open position for a Network Administrator for one of the largest law firms in Dallas, TX. The client is anticipating that this position will be a 3-4 month contract. However, there are currently 3 open requisitions for Network Administrators and there is a strong possibility that the contractor will be hired on permanently. On a day to day basis, the candidate will be responsible for the migration from a legacy network to a new network. This individual will work closely with an existing staff member to quickly come up to speed on the existing infrastructure as documented. Within 1-2 weeks the individual will complete planning and begin execution of the migration following established Change Management processes. Cisco experience is required, preferably CCNP (second-level Cisco certification) or above.<br/><br/>All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Experience: In order to qualify for this position the candidate must have 4+ years experience in a Network Admin role. Additionally, the candidate must be highly proficient in the following: Layer 2 and Layer 3 technology; setting up IP helpers; VLANs configured in a VTP configuration and 802.1 Q trunking; Inter-VLAN configurations; routing protocols (OSPF and HSRP, among others); Cisco device models (76xx, 65xx, and 26xx series routers a must; 29xx and 19xx series switches preferred; Catalyst 3560 a plus); Netscreen firewall experience not necessary, but a plus; Experience with Websense and McAfee IPS devices also a plus; Design/documentation skills; Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, written communication skills.
