Network Engineer - CCNA or MCSE highly desirable in Dallas, TX
POSITION SUMMARY The Regional Technology Engineer assists in managing the firm's network, resolving network and server issues in a proactive and timely manner, and monitors day-to-day network performance and system maintenance for the firm's Windows infrastructure across the region. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Monitor specific network response and performance data within the region and make recommendations for change -Work with the Information Technology Infrastructure Support Specialists ( ITISS ) to coordinate and resolve local office server issues. -Work with other team members to provide consistent and uniform network coverage. -Coordinate and / or perform LAN / WAN equipment maintenance and upgrades including HP and other servers, Cisco Catalyst switches, and other network equipment as required. -Maintain proper protection and confidentiality of all Grant Thornton LLP applications and user data. -Manage all aspects of network access and control, both internal and external. -Promote and maintain the highest levels of network security at all times. -Work closely with the Regional Technology Manager to formulate sound network policies and procedures. -Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion. -Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis to keep pace with emerging technologies. -Perform other job-related duties as required. Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS -Bachelor's degree is preferred. -3 to 5 years of experience in a simlar position. -Certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate ( CCNA )or similar is highly desirable. -Certification as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer ( MCSE ) or similar is highly desirable. -Cisco Catalyst switch experience is highly desirable. -HP Insight Manager experience helpful. -Experience with Windows 2003 Server a plus. -Prior support specialist experience a plus. -Ability to mentor and train ITISS staff. -Timely response and follow-through on all server issues. -Project management skills. -Self-motivating and team-oriented. -Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel about 15% to various office sites. -Position reports to Regional Engineer Team Lead.
