Manager Enterprise Pricing & Decision in Dallas, TX

The Manager is a seasoned professional who combines an overall understanding of management techniques and a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of procurement concepts, policies, practices and procedures. Incumbent works under general direction of Director or VP and supervises activities of professional buyers/purchasers and clerical support staff. Errors at this level can cause substantial delay, expense, and/or disruption to the organization. Manages the day-to-day operation of the procurement of materials, supplies and equipment.

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises staff involved in the solicitation of bids, analysis of quotations, selection of suppliers, expediting of purchases, and resolution of delivery, quality, etc. issues. On large-scale procurements, may lead staff in the same.

Maintains contacts with suppliers and negotiates prices, availability and delivery, as necessary.

Troubleshoots and resolves with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.

Participates in the establishment and implementation of overall ACS' purchasing operating standards, and/or those governing functional unit. Provides guidance to subordinate staff to ensure compliance.

Provides guidance to staff to ensure effective implementation and maintenance. Establishes internal controls and monitors activities of unit to ensure operating quality.

Acts as point of contact for other departments to resolve problems and acts as in-house consultant, providing expertise regarding matters affecting purchasing.

Interviews, selects and supervises training of new employees. Administers performance evaluations and salary recommendations. Ensures accurate payroll reporting for staff assigned to unit. Maintains positive work environment and staff relations.

Keeps apprised of developments in field of expertise to ensure currency

Participates in developing operating standards and/or makes recommendations to management to improve efficiency/effectiveness.

Education and Typical Years of Experience:

Bachelors degree in realted field or equivalent work experience.

7-10 years progressively responsible purchasing experience in related technical/professional services area.

2+ years experience in successful task lead or supervisory role.
