Develop and maintain Visual Basic 6.0 applications, querying against SQL 2000 servers, and designing reports. Provide analytical and technical support for Digital Phone Operations as required, including analyzing data, performing ad-hoc analysis and data mining. Develop, support and maintain existing in-house databases applications to support process automation within the provisioning and billing system. The focus of the analyst is the implementation of business requirements and the automation of manual processes. The incumbent must be sufficiently knowledgeable of software capabilities to automate and streamline processes and procedures as well as a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
. Take on several components of a project or a moderately complex component of a project.
. Troubleshoot basic problems and recommends appropriate action within guidelines relative to assigned tasks.
.Load and troubleshoot data specific issues in a SQL Server 2000 database.
.Creation and updating of SQL scripts based on specific requirements.
.Contribute to the scheduling process and publication plans by providing accurate work estimates to project leads and managers.
.Provide status updates to the technical lead and project managers as required.
.Work to support tight deadlines by being pro-active and maintaining an open and positive working relationship with cross-functional teams.
. Communicate all relevant risks to task completion to the technical lead in a timely and proactive manner.
Experience: Key Requirements
.Computer Science degree or relevant work experience.
.2-4 years relevant work experience in software development and support, telecommunications and/or billing system functionality.
.A strong understanding of programming concepts.
.Strong analysis and troubleshooting skill.
