Storage Technician in Dallas, TX

Excellent opportunity for a Senior Storage Technician to work with one of our leading clients in Dallas, Texas. Will work with HP, Hitachi and IBM Storage arrays, Brocade and Nishan SAN switches, Tivoli Storage Manager, HP Storage Essentials software. Duties will include: Volume management, multipathing, troubleshooting disk and tape SAN connectivity; HBA driver configuration; Provision storage, TSM clients, client configuration, audit, documentation, reporting; Ensure proper business continuity copies; Monitor for alerts and perform remedial action steps; Storage performance monitoring & optimization; Assist 1st level and system engineers with backup and restore requests; Storage capacity utilization trending and reporting; Technical procedures and documentation.

Experience with all the above required. 5 years minimum experience required at 2nd or 3rd line support. Experience supporting large scale server environments in excess of 100TB a must. Need technical experience with Solaris, AIX and Windows Operating Systems - Device Configuration; Storage Array and Storage switch administration, topologies and connectivity; Disk and Tape connectivity via SAN, disk/tape configuration on AIX, Solaris, Windows Servers, Kernel configuration, device driver tuning for performance; RAID Levels, Persistence Binding, Zoning, LUN Security, Multipathing, Local business or shadow copy, Mirror-view or True Copy, Tape Offsite management; AIX Integration with TSM and Solaris; Concepts of Netbackup; NDMP, LAN and LAN free backups, TDP for Oracle, Exchange, SQL Server; SAN and TSM experience in High Availability Server Clusters (Solaris/AIX/Wintel) and Unix Shell or Perl scripting. Effective communication skills in both verbal and written English required. Must be able to think logically through a problem, with an in-depth knowledge of what logs to check and what hardware and software component elimination tests to perform. Must understand the impact of technical changes on an operational service and be able to collaborate with other support teams to troubleshoot complex incidents while adhering to strict quality and change management processes.
