Data Center Solutions Architect in Dallas, TX
The Solution Architect (SA) will provide presales consulting support to account executives in an assigned territory. The SA must combine sales ability and consultative skills with technical expertise to design complex server, storage, virtualization and business continuity solutions based on HP technologies in the data center for mid-sized companies to large enterprises. This is a presales leadership position accountable for driving enterprise hardware, software, and services revenue and gross margin achievement. The SA will proactively manage an opportunity pipeline in conjunction with 8-12 sales account executives in the territory. It requires the ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate on the development of innovative, tailored solutions for clients and prospects. Within your region, you are viewed as the "go to" technical presales resource and you are engaged whenever an opportunity requires your area of expertise. This position is expected to participate in client and prospect meetings as technical sales support and must be able to communicate with both technical and business audiences from systems administrator to CIO. You will work on identifying opportunities and defining solutions that include servers, storage, data protection, virtualization, and business continuity technologies. You must know how to gather the client data required to effectively tailor a solution. You must have the experience to understand the various ways a solution may be delivered and anticipate what will work best for a given client. By combining your technical expertise with your business acumen you will provide vital, detailed information about how to deliver business value to our clients. Job Responsibilities: Helping equip sales generalists with basic understanding of our solutions Participation in sales presentations in a technical role, answering technical questions and offering solutions Consultatively analyzing a client's needs and determining the best solution for the prospect Delivering short term billable engagements to analyze a client's environment, and provide an assessment of needs and ROI of various solutions Coordination of other technical resources as necessary to provide the appropriate solution Devising the optimal combination of hardware, software, and services to meet the prospect's needs Development of bill of materials for complex hardware and software solutions and working with various vendor pricing programs to develop functional solutions at the most competitive price possible Playing a key role in the development of the bid and proposal process, and presenting the solution to the prospect Developing the statement of work for professional services as part of the solution Working with vendor partners to help drive business and support demand generation events Maintaining account relationships over time to continue to deliver advice to the client and identify additional opportunities Assisting in managing a sales pipeline and forecasts against regional goals Experience: At least 5 years experience performing similar duties at an existing HP/VMware reseller or at HP or VMware Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (8+ years relevant industry experience) required Vendor technical certifications for storage and server products is desirable (see list below) Experience in selling solutions into enterprise environments Consulting and solution implementation experience a plus Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with various levels of customers and internal personnel for all aspects of the market and products a must Position may require travel 25-50% travel as required to attend training events and support clients outside of home market, generally as short-term trips (2-5 days in duration)Primary Technical Focus Areas (required): VMware server virtualization HP ProLiant servers and BladeSystem HP StorageWorks solutions - MSA, EVA, LeftHand Networks, XP Data Protection, aka backup & recovery solutions Experience in Microsoft Windows Server environments (as opposed to Linux and UNIX) Secondary Technical Focus Areas (some or all desired): Desktop virtualization (VMware View or VDI) Disaster recovery Networking (Route/Switch) Citrix and Microsoft virtualization Desired certifications: HP ASE - ProLiant Servers HP ASE - ProLiant BladeSystem HP Master ASE SAN Architect VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP) To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
