Unix Systems Engineer in Dallas, TX

Must be a local candidate to the DFW area, and go on to our direct payroll.This is a position on a Unix engineering and support Team in Technology Engineering. The Team manages approximately 1,000 Unix/Linux Servers and workstations. The primary focus of the Team is to provide a highly available, consistent, and resiliant operating environment for application deployments. This includes both engineering design and support responsibilities. There is an on-call pager that is rotated through the engineers and the on-call requirements include being able to provide support remotely quickly and come on-site to address support issues directlySoftware Skills Linux Yes 4 - 6 Years Software Skills Solaris Yes 4 - 6 Years Software Skills Sun Servers Yes 4 - 6 Years Technical Skills Intel Hardware/Servers Install. Yes 4 - 6 Years Technical Skills Sun Solaris Yes 4 - 6 Years Additional Skills: - Minimum 5 years of Solaris, HP-UX and Linux administration (must be proficient in at least one; two or more preferred) in a commercial enterprise environment. - Storage Networking experience - Perl Scripting - Experience with Unix Performance Tuning- Strong Trouble-shooting skills- Ability to develop time estimates for project schedules, monitor progress and provide accurate and timely reports.- A minimum of 5 years IT experience on multiple platforms/technologies- Ability to provide Leadership within a specific technology area, or across multiple technology areas, to complete root-causeanalysis, perform testing, provide documentation.- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to work well with Customers at all levels (Leadership and Non-Leadership) - Ability and willingness to mentor others- Ability to multi-task To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
