Financial Analyst IIDallas, TX6 Months Prepare information to report Single-Family credit loss accounting activity for foreclosed assets. Analyze monthly accounting and operational results in order to explain loan charge-offs and credit losses and the key drivers of that activity. Analyze variances between actual credit loss results compared to forecast and explain key drivers of variances. Interface with management of the SF Finance, Credit Loss Management, Controllers Office, and Servicing to explain credit loss drivers and analysis related to business activity. Represent the team in meetings and on projects related to credit initiatives, provide input and financial analysis to support business strategy. Critically examine reports to identify anomalies and trends in data that require investigation by the Finance team. Improve and streamline the existing reporting process, and team with the business units and SF Finance to enhance efficiency, accuracy and control over the report production process. Provide ad hoc analysis of credit losses and respond to requests from internal customers. Work closely with Finance team to prioritize requests and to ensure results reported are accurate, produced within required deadlines, and are managed in a controlled process. B.S. degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred. 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and accounting; 3 or more years experience in mortgage banking and financial services industry preferred. Thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting, financial analysis, principles of economics and statistics, and financial institution balance sheet and profit and loss analysis techniques. Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and regulatory issues related to the financial industry. Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex and diverse analytical problems which require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Strong data analysis skills including understanding of database tables and relationships; familiarity with mortgage loan data desired. Proficiency required in MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Knowledge of database query packages such as Business Objects or Hyperion/Essbase to extract data for analysis; knowledge of SAS programming highly desirable. Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills with ability to work under tight deadlines; flexibility to handle multiple projects and take initiative to complete required work, working overtime as needed. Very good interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment and poise to present information to key stakeholders in meetings.
